I guess if you accept the two dimensional model of politics rather than the more realistic three dimensional model... and the rightly recognize Obama's policies as being similar to the economic policies of the fascists... he'd be considered right of center.
He is a thorough Progressive. He believes in the centralization of power in the hands of people like himself who know what is good for the rest of us.
Not really that surprised that McCain would label him a centrist. I have no use for McCain.
Clinton was actually pretty conservative after 94. His strong dollar policies had many of the same effects and benefits to individuals as a capital gains tax cut.
Doubt that. Clinton was exposed to radicals but he'd governed a very conservative state. I have said many times that Clinton could have been a conservative GOP Prez just as easily as a Dem prez. He just loved the power and attention.... and side benefits.
Obama is a radical and has associated himself with radicals and even thugs throughout his life. When you get a chance read up on liberation theology and black liberation theology. It is what Wright preaches... and Obama assented to for 20 years. Obama affirmed his close ideological and personal relationship with Wright until it threatened to end his campaign. He NEVER fully disavowed Wright's teachings or liberation theology.
Obama and his staff have read Rules for Radicals too. They know how to convincingly lie about doing one thing while doing something else.
If there is one picture that says it all about Juan McLame, here it is:
Clarification of the Giblet response, British socialists drive on the left side of the road, American sosicliasts drive on the right side of the road, which is called 'the third way,' so in that sense Barry is right of center.
