Announcers today kept saying AJ has won 3 national championships. So apparently Riley Ferguson gets credit for our upset of South Carolina last week.

Bottom line is AJ has never once stepped on the field without elite NFL caliber running game (more than one RB and the whole OL) and a killer elite NFL caliber defense. No one knows what he can do when he has to actually make it happen himself. That's why some of these guys go thru college as heroes but then flame out quick in the NFL. Personally, I think his college situation has probably actually hurt him in his pro chances. Adversity can be good in development.

You're a moron. Rutledge played 13 or 14 years and barely started 10 games over his entire career. BUT HE HAS SUPER BOWL RINGS!

Oh well for a school that makes up college championships, might as well make up Super Bowls too....

I almost made a thread on this but mccarron is a deush man. These quotes made me wish that we could play him with a better team behind us.

McCarron said he took that personally and ''wanted to come out and score as many points as possible on them'' and not leave the game whatever the score.

No - he's a product of Saban's system. He has 5-star talent around him at every position. He won't have that luxury in the NFL and he'll be a bust.

Could almost put Richard Todd on this list too but he was not that great in the nfl.

Tee Martin gets credit for the '98 NC. Do we win that without the talent that surrounded him? Especially on defense. The fact is, McCarron is great at not losing games. He doesn't try to do things he can't do. He manages the talent he has around him and makes the throws he has to make. I don't think this translates to the NFL where you have to be at a whole other level, but he's a great college qb. Tee Martin was a great college qb. NFL qb? Not so much.

Hate the team. I do. Bama can go to hell. But let's not spill that hate onto individual players. If you're gonna evaluate a player, take off the goggles and evaluate him fairly.

I thought the same thing yesterday bama gets a lot of players drafted every year and most of them wind up being busts in the NFL or average players at best. A.J. will at best be a backup and more likely coaching for the red team in a few years.

I made that comment about him getting credit for three national championships because during the first one he redshirted. That was his redshirt year, he never played. That's why I said Riley Ferguson, using that logic, would get credit for the win over South Carolina last week.

As an Alabama fan I don't care if AJ becomes a pro-bowler. I just want him to spank the voll's each year.

That means so much more than pro stats.
