McCullers in the game

I think he definitely affected their blocking schemes and collapsed the pocket a few times. They aren't going to run the ball at him, but he frees up the other guys when he's in there.

He's job isn't to make tackle after tackle, his job is to create space to allow others to make plays in the back field which they did.

Exactly, it's either single cover him or double team and let and end go by. I noticed they let an end fly and a back pick him up every time, which caused the qb to throw fast or scramble almost every play.

Not according to the staff. Coach Stripling stated a couple of weeks ago that both he and Coach Jancek want their DTs to be playmakers, not space eaters as they were in the 3-4 last season. That's why all the DTs slimmed down 15-20 lbs in the offseason. Bit I suspect that tonight and moving forward offenses are going to be more likely to run at Hood more so than Big Dan.

The big man did exactly what he needed to do, most times he's seeing double, if not triple teams. That frees up the lb's to make plays.

This. A DTs stats aren't really a reflection of his effectiveness. Vince Wilfork for example only had 48 tackles last year, and he's widely considered a top 2 dt in the NFL.
