You know, I saw that and the title and the photo to start sure made it seem like it was going to be some dark, evil piece.

But then I read it.

And what it really was, in my opinion, is Greer whining, first that the NCAA screwed him, and then that McElwain didn't just put a place holder on the QB spot for him for a whole year. I mean, the nerve of McElwain, going out and recruiting quarterbacks!

So then Greer and his Dad have a sit down with McElwain and McElwain, appropriately, says look kid, I don't know what is going to happen. Greer is out for a year, life goes on. We have to get ready for the future. No, we are not guaranteeing you anything. And then when Greer confronts him again, McElwain has had enough, and basically says, if you want to be sure you are playing again, go somewhere that will make that commitment to you, I can't.

McElwain comes off to me as honest and forthright. Greer as entitled. And at the end of the article, it just seemed to me that it was Greer SAYING he understood the mistake was his, but then literally trying to blame everyone else for the consequences.

To sum it up Jim was suppose to meet with Greer and his dad and was late two hours to that meeting because he was out recruiting Franks.

Nothing to see here, a butthurt kid on "over the counter mucinex" thinking it's the NCAAs fault.

I hope every single recruit Florida is after reads this

Why? As LG says McElwain doesn't come off as a bad actor at all in this.

Grier comes off as a petulant child who was upset that his spot wouldn't be saved for him after a drug test. That's really saying something, because Grier wrote the article himself and presumably is portraying himself in the best possible way.

I'm glad that we don't have to deal with anything like this. Pre-madonnas!!

Now he is moving their home games to Death Valley. I'm going to send Swamp Donkey a Christmas card.

Dear Freak,

Please classify the word "McElwain" as a profanity here on VN. Please have it autocorrect to "Coach Donkey Teeth of the Perpetual Victims".

Thanks. You're the best.

I agree. Florida had to move on without Grier since he wasn't going to be there QB for a whole year.

You lost all credibility with that statement.

Greer should never have agreed to write this article. No matter what happened, it makes him look bad. For now, all he should do is admit he made mistakes, say he is excited about his future and that he wishes all of his former teammates well.
