Is it all show for contract negotiations or is he outta here?

It is a conspiracy to get Bush, by making it look like we are going to draft a qb, Texas will trade down to another team that needs a qb, when Bush is bypassesd 1 and 2 we will snatch him up. Then later that day we will sign McNair to his contract.

I would've thought that mgmt. is willing to release McNair and find a jouneyman backup to sign a 1-year deal while they grood Leinart. It now appears that New Orleans might trade the #2 pick and whoever they trade with would probably be looking for Leinart at the #2 spot.

Which leaves Young, and I don't think the Fireballs would be the least disappointed with that pick. Some fans, maybe, but Titan coaches seem to love what they see in Young...

Who is Vince Young's agent? I'd figure it was the same as McNair's since VY is McNair's "boy".

what the titans did was unforgivable. mcnair has given eveything for this team and deserves better than this.

i am not happy with my titans right now.

Yeah. I listened to John McClain yesterday and he seems to think McNair is gone. Volek will be the starter this year and the Titans will take a lump to trade up one spot to get Leinart.

Yep, and right now I really don't care if they ever win a damned game again.

Young hired a family member (uncle?) who is an attorney to be his agent.

I am not sure about the Titans trading up.....I guess it depends on whether they feel Leinart is the better long term prospect. He is the more polished, but Young could eventually be the better pro. McClain knows his stuff, so there must be something to it but I would be surprised if they had already made up thier minds. Either way, McNair is gone, and as much as I admire the guy what do the Titans gain by giving him a long term deal which is what he is demanding?

The latest scuttlebut is that Fisher and Norm Chow really want Leinart but some of the scouts favor Vince Young and they have got Floydd Reece's ear. I am sure that there is some misinformation going on.

Who do you think is the better choice? Do they pull the trigger and trade up or hope that the saints stay at 2? I understand the Saints want Mario Williams but do not want to pay him #2 money so how far can they drop and still get thier guy?

I just don't know. I really believe that Leinart will probably be a very good pro-style QB if he gets on a team with a solid RB and a decent receiving corps. Young, on the other hand, could be either the best thing since sliced bread or one of the biggest busts of all time if he does not develop. We know the Titans are going to be down for another 1-3 years, and by that I mean no realistic shot at a deep playoff run, based on the team age, salary cap, and the strength of other teams in the division. It's equally likely that we can buy a solid, experienced pro-style QB in the free agent market just about any given year. Therefore, I favor drafting Young and giving a big signing bonus but let's avoid guaranteed money over multi-year period. It's a bit of a gamble but one I think the Titans can afford to take.
