I'm not usually critical of college players because they're not paid for what they do, but McRae has to learn that when his o is off he can still help the team. I thought he played poor defense on Saturday and he goes through the routine to much on o. Lazy passes come from him every game and it's not getting better. I know this team would be 11-16 without him but he's a senior and he should play hard every second he's out there, not just when his o is rolling! If McRae played as hard as Richardson every game he'd be all American not just all sec. It also helps prove Martin is not a motivator to go along with his other coaching deficiencies. We deserve better as fans. VFL, GBO

He's playing great. Stokes is too. But when your team can pull off a game-winning 3, followed by a game-tieing layup, followed by a game-winning foul shot attempt and STILL lose, you're just gonna have problems regardless of mcrae "stepping up"

Playing great is more than scoring, his man scored a lot on Saturday and he always had dumb turnovers. He had to play a complete game when he's off is what I'm saying.

No what??

He doesn't need to step up, if anything he needs to step back. He doesn't know how to contribute in another way besides scoring, which is a shame.

Our offense needs to go inside out and even he understood that and bought in on both ends we would be a better team.

That's fine.

Threads like this are why VN is the laughing stock of multiple other Vol message boards.
The thread is very legit if you know anything about basketball. I'm sure if you asked McRae he would tell you he sulked on Saturday. If you can't see that then you're not watching the game.

That's what I said, stepping up doesn't mean putting in 30 a game which is what I said in my post about defense and bad passes

And just one more response about "other boards", I'm a 35 year old man with a wife and kids , I could give a damn about what other boards think!

There's nothing funnier to me than message board guy racing to another site to act superior about . . . . the site they just took the time to read.

This thread is just as valid as any other discussion. It makes perfect sense to discuss whether McRae could get better at leading and being more of a closer. Personally, I don't think he's much of the problem, but at this point there are questions everywhere.
