'25 MD DL Darrion Smith (Tennessee commit)

Great DL Pickup. Athletic great feet just needs few years of TN Weight Program and Coached up by Garner and He will be ready to help us Win Ball games in SEC. In CHRIST Alone
It appears our staff has projected his ceiling and fit in our schemes is higher than other more star blessed guys and allocated him a scholarship. This was done after multiple real life evaluation opportunities. Does not appear to be an act of desperation.

I like the way the staff has formulated this D-line class. Its very diverse and complimentary in terms of body type & skill-sets. Smith will eventually provide interior pass rushing at DT which hasn't quite been a strength - outside of ONL - who will be gone after this season. Nothing will cause a QB to panic more than pressure right up the middle!

I think there’s a very good position coach there who hasn’t adjusted particularly well to the new world of recruiting
Rodney Garner has been playing the nil game way before there was a nil. Great recruiter at auburn, Tennessee, and Georgia. Look at the players he signed in his earlier stint at Tennessee. Maybe he is slowing down a little, but I don’t think this new playing field is hurting any of his recruiting imo.

He has to slow down a bit. Recruiting is a young guys game for the most part. Garner and guys like him say a guy like Saban can still close with the best of them, it’s just being on the road constantly and getting in front of kids is harder

Seems he is playing HIS cards just right, allowing other staffers to set up the table. Not playing like his direct competitors is not a bad thing, neither did Saban.

What does that mean?
St Francis (smiths HS) wants their players to visit as a lot of schools. Good for the player because it allows them to make sure to make sure they made the right choice and Good for the school because it builds Connection with College staff to sell to more High school transfers

Farooq must've had his mind made up because I don't remember him doing that.

I would for sure hope for a visit to Hawaii.
