HIGHLY RANKED DT TAKING HARD LOOK AT VOLS

Another highly ranked defensive-tackle target, four-star KaTron Evans of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, announced a top eight on Sunday that included Tennessee, along with Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Southern Cal, TCU and Arizona State. He hasn't named a favorite to this point among his group of front-runners, but sources close to his recruitment said the Vols are legitimate contenders for the 6-foot-4, 320-pound Evans, who already has visited Tennessee at least twice. Evans probably hasn't been discussed enough as a legitimate option for the Vols on the defensive line, and while Tennessee still has serious competition for him — including four other SEC schools — the Vols are believed to be one of the teams standing out most to him right now.
