This was sudden! He last played at U.T. in 2004, right? So, I thought he might be in the League more than 8 seasons.
He must have had some lingering injuries that prevented him from being 100%. However; I do recall that early last season, he made a HUGE mistake in a game and the San Diego coach officially put him in the dog house.

His last season at UT was 2006 (playing with Jayson Swain and...I am drawing a blank; what was Smith's first name?) He chose to go pro in 2007 rather than stay for his senior season.
