I'm not sure about Hannon's speed, but I'm sure he is doing it while running the wrong route.

he needs to learn how to catch first. meachum does not run a 4.28. i read that crap to rivals stats usually are not correct. you want to see what a 4.28 looks like, remember donte stallworth he ran a legit 4.25. meachum runs more like 4.48.

Speed, by itself, won't make a receiver. Sam Graddy was one of the fastest guys on the planet, but had a hard time holding on to balls stuck in his facemask. The thing we're missing here is holding on to the ball, running the correct routes, and EFFORT.

Our guys seem to always stop short on middle routes (when we can get one called). The only guy who consistently runs the middle routes is CJ Fayton, and he was hurt during most of this skid.

Our receivers have to leave their feet on the long balls if they're just a bit long. We have missed several that were very catchable, by trying to run through the ball instead of getting that last bit by diving.

It's great he's fast but it helps to be able to run and chew bubble gum or say- CATCH A BALL at the same time. Unless he's sooooo focused on running that he can't look up, reach for the ball, and grasp the ball, that so-called speed don't mean a thing.

Even Forrest Gump could catch the ball.....

Two words: Leonard Scott. Million dollar legs and 25 cent routes and 10 cent hands.

Meachem runs a sub 4.4. The drawback is Meachem has not been healthy all year. You CANNOT run sub 4.4 when you have an injuried ankle.

Our Recievers need to get out of the weight room and practice runnin routes and catchin balls better!

It seems that our WRs routes are so methodical...no real quickness or good cuts.

I wouldnt doubt that he is fast. But we all know everyone's stats are inflated just a LITTLE BIT. It always seems like those numbers go up a tenth or so when they run for the NFL guys.

Remember Dante Stallworth ran 4.26 at the combine. That made him a BUNCH of money.

Is there any chance that we will bring in a retired pro or proven commodity as a WR coach? I would think we would have no problem getting top flight recruits at receiver if they could come work with a Jerry Rice or someone similar, not that their are many similar to JR. Talk about instilling a work ethic and route running!!

i like alvin harper, but i think washington isn't going anywhere. thats fulmer's buddy and unless hamilton puts pressure on him he won't make anymore moves.

I wouldn't place any bets on Washington staying.

If Cut is brought in as OC look for "TD" Woods to be WR Coach

I'm getting the same feealing from Meacham as I did from Riggs. It's this problem, then that problem, in Meacham's case, a knee, a hamstring, an ankle...and now he apparently doesn't know how to layout for a pass. Always on the verge, never quite there over a season. :disappointed:

Hopefully a new WR coach will make the difference. Meachem has NFL type potential but has not broken out. I do think injuries have played a part in Meachem's lack of success but not laying out for a ball cannot be blamed on injury. These WR's are not laying out, not running crisp routs, not selling routes, and the overall effort and execution has just not been there. It's like they expect to just jog out there and a pass is just supposed to drop in thier hands after they run a half assed route.

It's pretty much the same guys back and they seemed to catch the ball fine last year. I just don't get it. I guess the dropsies are contagious.
