We looked awful last night.Until their big guy fouled out with roughly 6-7 mins to go with 16 points, the game was still basically a toss up.

They looked to me like they were playing around until about that point in the game. Once they turned it up, they moved out quickly.

I hate the Gators but their win is nothing but good for our conference. The SEC has been getting trashed by inferior teams the first few weeks of the season. We need a few teams to be ranked in our conference so we can get some quality wins.

Threads like this are ridiculous. We won by 17. I suppose if we won by 30 but were only up by 4 at halftime you would complain about the first half being "basically a toss up"

Why is it ridiculous for fans to voice their concerns over a team having the same problems they've had the previous few years?

Now I admit we can't judge our games based on how other teams did, that's just not how sports work.

But it is blatantly obvious this team has some serious issues that need to be addressed.

Lets not forget, this team has played 6 games in 10 days, and made a trip to the Paradise Jam, outside of the country. Florida did not have to deal with that, neither has Kentucky.

Maybe I'm just optimistic, but come on, not many teams would be 5-1 with that kind of schedule, and we are a missed shot away from being 6-0.

A good team would have beaten us, but there are a couple positives to take from this game:

1. Pearl ran them ragged at practice on Thursday, but we were still able to wear out Charleston.
2. Chism didn't play much b/c of foul trouble, but we overcame it with Hall & Williams.
3. J.P. is better coming off the bench.

Some of you apparently missed that little trip that the team was just on.The players even admitted that they were fatigued but I guess that's still not going to cut it with those of you who think they should win every game by 30 points regardless of the circumstances. And good for Florida for winning, if UT isn't #1 when they play I hope they are because when we beat them, like we always do, it's going to be even sweeter.

LOL I know Tennessee should win all ballgames 156-23 or it will be a toss up. Face it guys, TN Basketball has made great strides over the past couple of years, and in basketball a win is a win period. College of Charleston is one of the teams picked to with their conference, so you may see them again in the NCAA's. We have already played a few tough teams, and lost to one that was a legit top 10 team. I thought both TN and Purdue were both a little tired, and still payed hard. Its not like Tennessee plays a cupcake schedule, we still have Memphis, Kansas, the SEC with KY a couple of times. With this schedule, if we win 20+ games again, that would be awesome. Look for TN to make a deeper run in the NCAA's this year, but don't kill your neighbors if they don't get past the sweet 16... I'm not sure this team has that kind of overall game to game talent to do so...but we will see.

Every team has "serious issues". There's no reason to freak out after each game, looking for the definciencies the team showed. Yesterday's game was not that big of a deal considering all the factors (Oh, and we still won by nearly 20), plus there's still 30 or so games left in the season.

We have, like all the teams in basketball, things to work on, but I'm still not getting the panic of some people here. If you all are expecting a perfect game, you'll never get it and there will always be something in a game for someone to complain about. Right now, though, UT is 5-1 and ranked in the top 15. We're doing fine.

Not all teams have "serious issues" in the fact that they are still failing fundamentally just like they have the past few years. This team still does not value the ball. The halfcourt offense and defense both are still atrocious.

I'm not panicking... I have seen this same story played out throughout the previous few years. I fully expected this to happen and am fully prepared for it to continue to happen.

The Florida win should do wonders for the perception of the SEC (East). As for what really happened, MSU was probably looking ahead to their game with UNC. I wouldn't look too much into the Vols game against Charleston... The team was playing an inferior opponent and they knew it.

The gators handled MSU the whole game.. They played extremely well..That Walker kid is going to give people trouble all year..

The most impressive thing about Florida this year is the ability to cause turnovers on pretty good teams. Boynton has a ways to go but I think he's good enough to get Florida back into the dance.

UF has certainly improved, but UT only winning by 17 or w/e is nothing to be concerned about. A win is a win and its still very early in the season. As long as the wins keep coming dont be concerned, because I'm sure by January and February Tennessee will be clicking on all cylinders.

Some people around here have two gears. "We Suck" and "Final Four"
