With the exception of 2010, Jones' first year at Cincy, his teams have never lost more than 2 conference games in a season. That is impressive. Everything I've seen says he's smart when it comes to Xs and Os.

His recruiting ability is bothersome, which is why he needs to keep Graham, Pittman and Hinshaw and bring in someone like Tee Martin.

Relax, he has not even coached a down yet at UT and you all think we are doomed! Why B/C we did not get Gruden, Gundy or Strong? So what, Butch is a winner and he has the balls to take the job, unlike the other 3 who used UT as a fulcrum. Welcome Coach, GO VOLS!

While everyone is freaking out about Cincy's loss to Dooley; it might be important to note that that same team beat NC State- 44-14, Charlie Strong's Louisville team 25-16, and James Franklin's Vandy team in the Liberty Bowl 31-24.

He has recruited better than anyone ever at Cincy. And is ahead of Strong in recruiting. What is bothersome about that?

I have to be honest, the hire doesn't make me go "WOW"; but I am willing to give the man a chance before I start bad mouthing him on his coaching ability or his ability to get it done in the SEC.

Simply the fear of the unknown. Given our situation, recruiting is our top priority. I will just have to wait and see. Not saying the hire was bad. Just voicing one concern.

At the very, VERY least can we not see what happens with the staff and this recruiting class before we start pretending we know how this hire is going to look after an actual season of play? Hmmm, perchance, maybe?

people said the same thing after the Dooley hire. I'm tired of the wait and see mentality. This is a disaster.

So your options are to...what? Commit suicide? Wake up every morning and cry like a hormonally imbalanced teenage girl that just got dumped at the prom?

The coach we're going to have, at least for the short term, is now on staff. Is it going to be your thoughtful choice, before he's even gotten his first class recruited (much less coached a down), to berate he and the team from now 'til the foreseeable future?
