Rachel Powell is the only one I know of that played for Georgia from Meigs County and yes,Misty Greene did play for Pat. It was just one year or maybe two.
My niece plays middle school ball with Rachel's daughter and we have talked a couple of times.

I live in Meigs. They only had Misty. Rachel Powell went to Georgia. Meigs is a very small high school but we breathe sports. It lists current softball player Ashley Rogers as being from Athens, but she played for Meigs. Past Vol football team members have included Jeff Smith, Robbie Scott and Gary Moore. Unfortunately Knoxville newspaper and TV doesn't cover their sports. Not sure why as we are in the area ( 50 miles away). This year's Mr Football in Class 2, was the quarterback at Meigs. I remember last year reading a post about women's softball on here where it stated Ashley Rogers came from a small school with little or no competition. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Go Vols

Brubaker, do you have any idea whatever became of Misty Greene? I have actually wondered about her often over the years, but especially so recently. I remember watching "The Cinderella Season" and thinking how sweet it was that she appeared to idolize Kellie, so I'm thinking she's probably so happy that KJH is the new coach.

UPDATE! UPDATE!
Bru, I don't know why I wasn't able to find it before, but I just found that Misty Greene is the boys' basketball coach at a middle school in Garner, N.C. She looks happy and well on her Facebook page. :)

You misspelled Tennessee in the title. Probably a finger slip.

I used to work with a guy from Meigs county. We jokingly called him a Meigs-ican.

Yes she moved to North Carolina, got married and starting coaching basketball. I think she has 2 children ( haven't checked her Facebook). She was a star at Meigs, but not arrogant or anything.. I saw her in Meigs County a couple years ago and she's doing great

Why in the world didnt those two go to Tennessee?

Before the Geno fued, there was Andy Landers. While it waa not near as nasty, Pat and Andy stopped talking to each other for a couple of years. Anyone remember why?

She did own his ass! Big time!

Pam Irwin was probably their best player during the mid 90s. She went to UGA
Cant believe I forgot her. I'm in Mcminn county but try to follow all the local schools.
Meigs has had some really good ball players in all sports over the years.

Midway used to have some epic games vs Meigs during the Powell years. Little sis played then.
