He was obviously the ASG MVP, which led to talks between the Giants and Melky about a new contract. Apparently the Giants offered 3yr/$27M. Melky's camp was like meh... the talks stopped at that point. This was on or around Aug. 8.

He was probably wanting something more long term around $120M+. WHOOPS!

He was a disappointment when in Atlanta a few years back. Gets traded from the Royals to the Giants and all of the sudden has some success this year. During a series in ATL earlier this year he made a total ass of himself with his antics and non-professional behavior.

He had a BABIP of .379 this season, which is only 40 points higher than Tony Freaking Gwynn's career BABIP. He was having the same sort of fluke season Willie Harris had for the Braves a few years ago.
