Great news released just a little while ago Melvin goins will be back starting tomorrow night. Pearl had said after Sundays practice it looked as though golden would stelaet that Melvin just wasn't ready. After the practice today in new York pearl said Melvin looks good and is going to be the starter. Huge news seeing as how VCU likes to press.

Does this help?

"Melvin will start for us, and I thought he looked good in practice today,'' Pearl said following the Vols' 2 1/2-hour practice at the Palladium Athletic Facility at New York University on Tuesday.

I will admit that I know next to nothing about the current VCU squad. I do not know how many starters they return. I know they have been a solid team for the last several years with a couple NCAA bids, but I know nothing about this current team that is taking the floor tonight. Any insite?

I was watching the K State and Gonzaga game the other night, and noticed a guy sitting in the 1st row right behind the Zags bench wearing a bright orange hat with a white power T. It made me smile!

They return 4 starters but have to replace Larry Sanders who was a 1st round draft pick.

That's a big hole to fill, and a reason they try to force turnovers in the full court press, because they are not as confident in their half-court defense. Fortunately for them, Tennessee doesn't play a great half-court offense. They like to run a 4 guard set with Burgess at 4, and he has been great for them, but they probably won't be able to run that vs. us. Burgess will start, but at the 4 I think they will go with Veal, a 6'8" JC transfer. So as long as we can navigate the full-court press, Tobias could have a big game for us, and we should be able to establish our game in the paint. Hopefully the two kids from NY have a good start in their homecoming.

Correct our front court is our weak spot. Plus live by the 3 or die by the 3. should be fun to watch the pace of the game tonight I see fans on both sides standing more than sitting in front of their tv...
