I've talked with him a couple of times. He seems like a nice guy. I never thought effort was an issue with him, which made him something of an anomaly for the last season.
He was a great competitor and had a lot of good skills for someone who some high volume posters on here who happen to think of themselves as college bball gurus basically called a waste of a scholarship.
It wasn't Melvin's fault that the offensive play called in the last timeout would break down or wouldn't work and he would have to jack up a 3 at the end of the game to try and win it. He wasn't the best point guard, but very few players busted their ass more than he did.
