Former Kentucky basketball star, Melvin Turpin committed suicide today.

I remember the night he scorched the Vols for 44 points, but Dan Federman came off of the bench to retaliate with a career game of 20-something of his own points and led the Vols to a lopsided win over UK.

The exact opposite of his fellow Twin Tower. Bowie seemed happier once he was done with basketball. Turpin never seemed to find happiness after hoops.
Bowie still owns Lex. I'm telling you these fans are suck ups, but they will only put up with so much crap. That is why I'd be shocked if Travis Ford is ever welcomed back in any type of employed capacity.

RIP Mel.

So many funny stories about him, McDonald's, and Joe Hall.

Terrible news...I have good memories sitting in Stokely scared to death watching Turpin and Bowie and crew warming up before a game against UT...Terrifying lineup they had in those days..UT always seemed to have magic on their side at home against UK in those days...R.I.P. Mel

Indeed. His resume would be used for a coffee coaster. He has burned many bridges. I have met him twice personally, one time being at a restaurant where we sat at a table beside them. The man doesn't excel at social communication. Much like Darrin Horn.
