After reading the threads about Vandy coming back to reality, you have to raise the question.

Why are they in the SEC?

Do they really contribute that much to the conference that we have to keep them around?

They only thing i can think of is the school raises the GPA of the conference, and everyone needs a home coming opponent.

In a dream world, i would have The University of Memphis replace Vandy in the SEC East.

Think about it, geographically it makes sense. Tennessee would finally have a semi-worthy interstate rival (i have tired to forget the 1996 kick return) and the school would bring a lot to the conference sports wise.

They would boost the basketball portion cause Calparis got a good system runnin down there.

Memphis already plays Ole Miss every year and they won two in a row before this year. (Starting OB broke leg on 3rd play)

Just wanted to see what yall thought about this.

I will never forgive them for the 96 game. And the monopoly they have on basketball. I think it's good to beat up on ol Vandy. They are like the guy in your circle of friends that you don't know why he's there, rarely has any input, never invited but shows up anyways kinda way.

I think they should stay.

That is one of the best movies I've seen. I like the Sam Elliot narration. He was great as John Buford in Gettysburg.

They don't contribute anything as far as I can tell. They are the welfare recipient of the SEC. They get a chunk of the bowl money every year, but when was the last time they contributed anything to that money pool? If they don't make a bowl this year (and that's starting to look like a stretch), then they never will. It's time to make em pay their own way for a change. :twocents:
