Good read..Evans is good player. Im shocked that Hopson hasn't came on like Tyreke has. Hopson was rated 1 spot higher than Tyreke.

As i watched the game.I couldn't help but think about
all the great teams that move the ball around a lot more than what i was seeing. It seemed that, take the ball down the count and drive.Or pass once or twice and shoot is normal for this team.Is this the game plan and
does the team see something that triggers these responses?

Good read, Griff. Tyreke is a baller. He was guilty of the same thing that has plagued him all year though in being too aggressive to the basket and drawing charges. He will learn patience, but he is clearly ready for the next level IMO.

I was disappointed to not see anything about the coaches being announced. I hoped to get your perspective on that.

Overall an excellent post. Keep up the good work.

I didn't take a freakin' genius to figure out which player would be more successful early on. Evans is a strong freshman and will be NBA ready... Hopson looks like a scrawny middle schooler (minus the 6'7 part). Don't underestimate their physique when making an adjustment to the next level.

Amazingly, Hopson cannot even handle the ball cleanly with the dribble. He has no confidence and when he is in traffic and trying to dribble, it is just a turnover waiting to happen. Does this guy work on any of his deficiences at all? Just curious.

I guess. I expected him to average 11-14ppg. He's off that but not but a ton. But I did expect him to put forth a lot more effort defensively when he came to college - but that hasn't happened.

I noticed that too. He needs to work on ball control, fundamental dribbling in traffic, and needs to be more aggressive to the basket. I think Scotty has a lot of upside, but he has a long way to go too.

Hopson is going too have to get serious in the weight room. His shot could use some work also.

Hopson has never been a better recruit than Tyreke and anyone who said he was is just not very good at evaluations. It didn't take much skill to see that Tyreke had much less holes in his game.

Hopson's handle was always suspect and his defense was pretty bad in AAU and high school. He also tended to disappear at times on offense.

Don't get me wrong, Hopson will be very good next year and could make some noise in some more games this year..... but pretty much everyone who is familiar with those two guys would take Evans.

He was also a forward in highschool who is making the transition to guard. He seems to think that 2 means floating around the perimeter and bombing threes.

I still hope that improved physical strength will get him back to taking the ball on the wing, penetrating into the lane, and finishing. He has to be more aggressive, but physically he just isn't ready yet, and that has changed his game.

He is Scotty so I guess he thinks he doesn't have to.

I remember all the hype last year after signing Scotty and that he would be one and done....I don't think so.

Man, that was a spectators nightmare, Tigers won OK. The refs had no clue how to call that game IMO.:)
