Memphis Tigers

Both Memphis and SMU are pretenders, neither play defense at all. Tennessee would beat either one of them with Maurer at QB.

Nope. I'm not. Memphis is extremely fortunate they don't have a couple more losses. The Vols would handle Memphis. First half of the season Vols? That's a different story though.
How so?
They got hosed by a terrible call the 1 game they've lost.

I've got no problem with the actual 30-35K Memphis fans in the city that actually go to games and follow them. They're pretty based and know these past several years could be as good as it gets. They aren't the reason this is the first game in 3/4years Tiger High is removing the blue tarp covering 10-20K seats in the stands.

What's obnoxious is 90% or so of the people who showed up for ESPN's game day that couldn't tell you anything about the team.

Don’t be surprised if Norvell is coaching in the SEC, sooner rather than later.

Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Miss State are all possibilities to be on the market, and if either are, I’m positive Norvell is near the top of the candidates list.

I hardly give a thought about the Tigers for anything but clearly we live in their heads. I did like the "LiTTle BroTher" sign with orange power T's though that was good and it did make me laugh lol. I hope they lose tonight hahaha

Memphis fans troll Tennessee with College GameDay signs

I hope MSU wins every game against out-of-state opponents. I hope the same for all Tennessee colleges/universities, even Austin Peay pulling off an impossible upset of Bama. I'm a Tennessean, though a Vol by blood, still a Tennessean. I want opposing teams from elsewhere or elsewhen to dread playing any Tennessee school.

There are some very strange things that happen to me;
Whenever I drain a bottle of Jack whiskey.
I see pretty gal astride a prancing Tennessee walker.
It's not a proper thing to do, I know, but I start to stalk her.
That gal's, that pretty gal's name is Tennessee.
I swear she's the only gal that's right for me.

His gambling issues have kept him at Memphis the last couple of seasons. Not sure an SEC program would be willing to hire him yet.

Thank goodness we got those moron LBs committed, amirite?
yes , they look like promising future Vol football players . Don’t really care if they are future all academic sec types or not. I don’t think the fans are going to be heading to Knoxville on a Tuesday to see them take a history quiz there chief .

I get what you are saying to a degree but I do have a question . Would you include the private school on West End Ave. in your “I hope the same for all TN colleges / universities” statement ?

Who cares? Tennessee hasn't played Memphis in nearly 25 years. The fact that any of you have enough energy to focus hatred that ought to be pent up towards programs like Florida or Alabama towards a program like Memphis shows how far Tennessee has fallen. Memphis football shouldn't even enter anyone's mind as something to care about. Maybe for basketball, but Tiger football is a novelty at best.

You don't hear Ohio State fans getting all bent out of shape over Cincinnati or Alabama fans getting worked up over UAB, and for good reason. They know they're superior and it doesn't even warrant a discussion.

Let them have their very, very brief moment in the sun... God knows it won't happen again.

And he should be. He's a good coach IMO
