Memphis WILL vacate 2007-8 wins in basketball.

Give it time. I'm sure he'll have to vacate this season sooner or later, and we can knock two losses off our final record.

:eek:lol:

I hope he gets to the Final Four, just so it can be taken away from kentucky fans in 2 years

I don't see where they implicated Calipari anywhere. Rose made some stupid decisions along the way. Memphis pays. It's not fair, but this is the NCAA we're talking about.

Yes, because Cal had nothing to do with it. I hope you are not that naive.

I am also pretty sure the NCAA had no hard evidence in this case other than a guy say that it doesn't look like Rose's handwriting. They never even talked to Rose. Not to mention the NCAA cleared him twice to play.

Cal should have to reimburse Memphis for his bonuses that year, especially with Memphis having to give back the $500,000 or whatever the exact amount is.

typical NCAA hipocrisy

Exactly.

First you clear Rose to play, then you decide after he leaves campus that you shouldn't have cleared him? Total hipocrisy by the NCAA. Cal would not have played someone who was not eligible- that's pretty foolish to do so.

Some of you guys need to take off the Cal-hating glasses to examine the facts in this case.

I saw some Kentucky fans saying that Memphis would win the appeal and get the victories from 2007-8 restored. No, no they will not. :neener2: Cal is still a crook!

NCAA rejects Memphis' final appeal of vacated wins - College Basketball - Rivals.com

On the bright side, it eliminated two loses from Honest John's career coaching record. That's a good thing, isn't it?

2007–08 Memphis 38–2 ** 16–0 ** 1st NCAA Runner-up (vacated)

I think the NCAA has shown infinite wisdom in the decision. Ya know, the NCAA is always fair about everything. I've heard that many times since coming to Vol Nation.

I mean come on, UK fans ignoring this is pretty pitiful as well. But I guess it's all coincidence that Calipari has left two schools on probation in his wake.

No, he just lost the 38 wins. The two losses stand. Tiger High and Cal are now officially 0-2 for that year. Cheaters never win, but they can still lose. :birgits_giggle:

I think Bruce and Bill Self should each be awarded a bonus win for managing to beat the cheater anyway.
