This is the best non conference schedule we've had in a while. Oklahoma State really exposed us, so how does the Volnation think we fair?

@ Georgetown (4-1), beat UCLA and took #1 Indiana to overtime.

@ Virginia (5-2)

Wichita State (7-0)

Xavier (5-1)

Memphis (3-2)

That's a big swing if we can come out of that still a live. Unfortunately I think it's going to show how much we need and miss Maymon.

What do yall think?

I'm nervously excited about the Gtown game tomorrow. I'm definitely scared.

Who has Xavier beaten? I wasn't aware they were supposed to be very good this year, but early schedule records can be misleading.

I'm pissed I got WCU tix instead of Virginia tickets in the holiday pack. Is Virginia on a weeknight, or something? I have no idea why else I would have done that.

Ah, okay. Xavier lost to Pacific, and hasn't played anyone else all that tough. Is Butler good this year?

Since I don't keep up with NCAA BB that much, I can't tell who's good, because I look at who they've played, and then don't know how good THOSE teams are. haha oh well.

Virginia is an away game. I didn't think they had away tix included in on that pack.

They didn't offer away games as part of the Holiday pack this year.

Hell, who was I thinking of, then?

Oh, Wichita. It's on a Thursday. I don't know why I didn't get those tickets instead of WCU.

Tickets are cheap for Virginia if anyone is going. Had a trip planned for G'Town, spend time in DC and swing down to hit up the Virgina game but I'm not able too now. Still might try for the Virginia game if work allows it.

How do we feel about Memphis? I haven't watched them this year. Minnesota is a good team, but they also lost to VCU. That's definitely not a bad loss, though.

4-1 is what i'm shooting for but 5-0 baby! That would be ridiculous!

I didn't realize Xavier was doing well. I didn't think they would be any good this year.

I know the Memphis posters will hate this but honestly, not very good. They have all the potential in the world but are very, very beatable. In fact, I'm more worried about Virginia than I am Memphis.

The city of Memphis was close to meltdown mode when it appeared northera Iowa was going to beat Memphis...would've been 0-3 for Memphis on the trip to Atlantis. However they came back from double digits and squeaked out a much needed W.

The game is here in Knoxville, so that will obviously help as this tiger team doesn't appear to play well away from home.

Here's the deal, they have more talent than anyone not named Kentucky, but are greatly underachieving(as has been the norm for Pastner). So on any given night they could click and be scary good, but that continues to look less likely.

I counted it as a L for us preseason, but the more I watch Memphis the better I feel.

I'd love to play Memphis now. They are struggling a bit. But, with all that talent, I'm expecting them to be playing much better ball by the first on Jan. Because of that, I will have this game a toss up right now.

I think we lose to GT and Wichita State. Beat Virginia, Xavier at home.

The shocker win @ VCU is VERY impressive. I thought Smart's bunch wasn't very good this year and then I seen them basically beat Louisville and play Duke tough. Should be a really good game.

3-2 or 4-1 is what I see. I think we give Georgetown a game possibly beat them but I'll say it's a L right now. Wichita State will be tough so that's a toss up as well. We get Virginia and Xavier. Then we win against Memphis and send the Tigers back to Memphis tails tucked between their legs

My hope is that we play very competitive and keep games close! This is going to be a very hard Stretch of games without Maymon!
I think we beat Memphis, Xavier, and Wichita State with a close loss to Georgetown and Virginia

Virginia is by far the worst team of the 5. It will be a bad loss for us at the end of the year if we lose to them.

Fair enough assessment. UNI is no slouch of a team, though. Top 100 in Kenpom and played Louisville to the bone.

Memphis is definitely better than they've shown so far, so for UT it depends on how far along the team has come in January. It could be like last year, once Jackson bought in, and Memphis was steamrolling teams. Or, Tarik Black could take off and we could be floundering in January.

It's at TBA, so UT should have the advantage. There are defeinitely other games to be more worried about on your OC schedule than this one.

I've heard bits and pieces about Tarik Black. What's the situation / story with him and Memphis?

I'd love to see us playing the likes of Georgetown and Xavier with Maymon in the fold. Without him in the lineup, I'll be anxiously keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm from Memphis and here's my thought: If we don't blow Memphis away, I'll be disappointed in the team. Memphis has good players, a lousy coach, and no chemistry.
