Anybody have a hart schaffner Marx suit? Got one online today I'll have to get tailored. It was on sale through nordstroms and was bored.

Curious on quality.

HSM has definitely started using lower grade materials over the last 5 years it so. I equate them to JoS Bank and if you bought the suit under 250, then it was worth it. I have a couple suits from HSM but much prefer Hickey Freeman's, which are only slightly more expensive.

I have a couple. Last one I have was purchased in 2006. Have gotten decent wear out of it and still holding up well.

I have a hickey freeman I bought several years ago but it was a hell of a lot more than 250. The suit game must have changed a lot in the last few years...

I have a couple HF's and they are nice.

I know little about men's dress clothes, but when I'm in need and on a bit of a budget, I'll go with Express or J Crew off the rack, then take it to a local tailor if needed. I usually don't have a hard time with most 44R that I find.

I've lost touch with men's dress wear...I retired a couple a couple of years ago and immediately began gaining weight....I refuse to spend money on new stuff especially when theirs a very limited need and
a expansive wardrobe awaits me when I drop 20-25 lbs...

I live in the woods on Norris lake and roam around dressed in sweat pants and hoodies, followed by a pack of dogs ...in a related topic there have been isolated 'Bigfoot' sightings from time to time near my home....

If you live near Knox, go to John H. Daniels. I never could get stuff off the rack. Granted the fabric selection is a lot more limited and I despise their pricing (you have to buy two suits) but a tailored suit is the way to go if the rack won't work.

Is anyone familiar with the company...IE, the business plan and how it works....is it outsourced, and if not where is the work done and by whom...thanks in advance

There was a guy doing the same thing over at the Governors Club in Brentwood last year.

Jackson Avenue North of Gay St. As far as I know, all work is done on the spot. I think you will appreciate their attention to detail.
