Peyton, you're 36 years-old and nearing the end of your great career. You've proven that your injury couldn't hold you down, and you've proven that you're still a game changer.
You were runner-up for the Heisman in college, and you've won a Superbowl in the pros. Now, you need a new challenge: Return to your Alma Mater and be our Head Football coach!
No coaching experience? Don't care. You're a smart guy, and you'll hire experienced and knowledgable assistants.
Got more to prove as a pro QB? Not from my perspective. You're a shoe-in Hall of Famer. You got your SB ring. You've got plenty of records, and you still have your health. The last couple years of most incredible quarterbacks are like a train wreck, where the guy still has the drive to win, but his body can't cut the mustard. Favre comes to mind as a recent example. Peyton: Don't be that guy!
Instead, pull a Tony Dungy and go out on top... at a time and place on your own terms. I got a feeling the entire state of Tennessee would welcome you with open arms.
Pick up the phone. Call Dave Hart.
We've suffered through the disasters of Hamilton, Kiffen and Dooley. We fans love Tennessee football just as you do. We deserve better, and you are the solution.
Step up to the plate and do it.
You would be a great Tennessee Vol Head Football Coach.
