i know that it's munoz. That was a typo and i didn't proofread. The m and n are right next to each other. I remember when the father played in college for so. Cal, and then for the bengals. I also remember that his son had a seriously bad break with his knee and, neither he nor any nfl team wanted to risk it.

He was expecting to be drafted, and I thought that his knee was surgically repaired before his last year or two. In any event, he was not nearly as successful in football as the old man. Anthony was one of the best linemen ever.

My whole point was that the last name doesn't guarantee the success of the father, or brother, in this case. I hope that the young Berrys are as good as the older ones.

And MY point was that Michael WAS a success here at UT! You were trying to insinuate that he was a bust, which is complete BS! He STARTED on our OL as a true freshman! He was a freshman AA, eventually became a team captain, and a consensus AA when he was a senior! All this in spite of battling multiple injuries during his career! Wow if you consider that a bust then please, give me a whole team of busts like that! Ridiculous!

I didn't have a licensed picture of the Berry Twins available. I thought the Eric Berry pic emphasized their bloodline. It certainly wasn't meant to overshadow.

Eric and James were great former Vols, and the Berry twins coming from such a great family only enhances their appeal, in my opinion.

:hi:

That's cool Freak and I understand. I was just thinking that once they step onto campus they're going to have to hear about comparisons to big brother Eric enough as it is. I just thought it might be nice to try and avoid that as much as possible on here. Not saying that I think they read Volnation but who knows.

I didn't say that Michael Munoz was a bust. I didn't say that Matt Simms was a bust. I didn't say that Gary Nicklaus was a bust. I didn't even say that Derek Dooley was a bust. I said that people expected them to be as great as their fathers because of their last name. NONE of them were. Your reading comprehension skills are a bust.

Everyone assumes that they will be good because of their name. I hope they will be, but everyone assumed that Dooley could coach because of his name, Nunoz could block because of his name, Simms could play qb because of his name, and that the Nicklaus boys could play like Jack.

DD dad was not a very good player either.

If they were worried about comparisons to Eric or James, I don't think they would have committed to Tennessee. JMO. But I do understand your point.

And like I said, if I had a good picture of the twins handy, I too would have preferred it.

Elliot obviously ate his dinner and then evans, becoming the bigger one. Then evan had to start taking his meals and running, becoming the faster one. Mom can't open her eyes so she didnt realize any of this was going on.

I'm just glad they chose us.

I have a feeling the Berry name will be even more legendary when their time is done at UT.

I think their offer list shows how good they are and the potential they have.

72,
You sir are completely CLUELESS in your assessment. Just stop trying to defend it and say "OK, MM is not in category with the others". The kid was excellent as a true freshman, then became an All-American at UT, then battled serious injury late in his career which cost him a proabable 1st round pick and NFL career.

He is a VFL, a humble leader, and was a stellar representative of UT who never once came close to bringing shame on our beloved Vols. My personal favorite was that he turned down the Playboy AA team "honor" on moral grounds. Regardless of what your position is on that, it shows character, principle, and willingness to sacrifice for "right vs wrong".

To put down Michael Munoz as a Vol failure is shameful IMHO.

Not on an elite scale sure. But dang, didn't he walk on at UVA and then end up a starter with Herman Moore around 89' or so. Didn't we beat them in a close one in the Sugar Bowl? Getting old .. memory slipping. :cray:
