Have some friends with a cabin in Priest Lake, Idaho and Danny bought a place next to them last year.

I got to go up this year and spend a week and they introduced me to him, got to chat with him for about 15 minutes.

I understand why these guys are such good recruiters for young men now, he was very engaging, easy to talk to and seemed genuinely interested in our conversation (even though I'm sure he was just wanting to get back on the boat).
I told him that I was fan of his (I am) and the teams success last year, ESPECIALLY against USC and how much I hated Coach X. He said he completely understood and felt the same way and looked forward to beating them again. Said he didn't really have an opinion regarding the conference shake-ups.
Said he was pretty excited about this year, their QB is returning and has made a lot of good strides this off-season and likewise with the whole offense and that this defense should be stingy again.

Meant to post earlier about this, you meet the neatest people in the weirdest locations.

Cool tidbit about Danny, Mike Riley the HC at Oregon States wife got sick and needed a liver. Rumor has it that Danny gave 1/2 of his.

Also, you'll see his name in this list @ #13

Heard he's a good guy.

Not sure if he deals with recruiting or even pays attention to the little brouhaha that's going on here right now, but FCS Portland State's opener against NAIA Southern Oregon will be on a local broadcast on Comcast, while Oregon State's opener against FCS Sacramento State won't get any television broadcast whatsoever.
