AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Belleville High School near Detroit has sent a dozen players to the Power Five level in the last five years. Two of those prospects signed with SEC schools, and another is committed in the 2022 class. Now, three-star athlete
Christian Rapley is closely eyeing several SEC programs as well.

“I love the physicalness about it,” Rapley said of the SEC. “Coach (Steven) Clinkscale at Kentucky, then we have Tim Banks who recently went to Tennessee. That’s really who I’m talking to the most right now.”

The player connections at Tennessee are not as strong for Rapley, but the player-coach relationship is strong with new defensive coordinator Tim Banks.

“I knew coach Tim since eighth grade. It was always a real close relationship,” Rapley said. “I went down there last summer. I camped out there and I love it, loved the city and all of that.”

At this stage of his recruitment, Rapley wants to wait until the dead period ends so he can take visits. Kentucky and Tennessee will be among his priority visits, along with Penn State and South Carolina.

A two-way prospect who could play wide receiver or defensive back in college, Rapley said all schools are currently recruiting him as an athlete, and will figure out position when he arrives on campus.
