Mia Pauldo (McDonald's All American Scrimmage)

This game is proof that ESPN rankings aren’t right.
Never put stock into rankings! They're hit or miss. How you prove them wrong is your play at the next level. For example Latham was ranked 72nd in her class but ended up an all acc freshman. With other ranked top girls in the conference on other squads. Which solidified her a top 20 freshman in wbb. Although she took a drop this season numbers wise I'm hoping she bounces back next yr

Defensively and passing Mya Pauldo is as good as Mia that’s true. She’s about as fast as Mia too.
Mya may be a slightly better three point shooter.
Mia has the edge though in mid-range game, dribbling, vertical jump, and finishing at the rim.
Mia Pauldo is like Kyrie Irving or Allen Iverson as a PG. A complete player. A dawg.
I would rank Mya 20-30 and Mia 5-10.
There are two Pauldo's how lucky can we get cause the other one that didn't play in this game is as good as the one that did.

I can tell people never really watched Deniya Prawl. This game had a ton of selfish players playing on her team. Go back and watch Double Dynasty in the Overtime Select games...you'll see the real Deniya Prawl.

If the East had both Twins...they win easily.
You are correct! I really don’t know enough about Prawl, and was just making observances based on this one game.

I think this young lady deserved her own personal thread.

I watched the scrimmage yesterday and I came away impressed with how Mia Pauldo LEADS.

That young lady is a BONAFIDE star! She's different, she has that killer instinct, and she has that clutch gene.

Mia Pauldo got her shot blocked and ran Jazzy Davidson down to stop a fast break layup.

Pauldo cooked Chavez numerous of times, Sienna Betts, and others.

Mia Pauldo finished the scrimmage with probably 14 points (8 coming in overtime ), 3 rebounds, 5 ast (1 was a crazy no looker), and 1 steal. I could be a little off on the points!

She sees the floor better than all the players on the court. No exaggeration!!

Mia got on Magot (South Carolina Commit) because she didn't run to the rim and it caused Mia Pauldo to turn the ball over. She sees stuff nobody else does.

Tennessee fans and ones who don't believe...will be extremely surprised at how good and how tough those Twins are.

If you haven't watched the scrimmage. I advise you to go do so. You will come away saying...I didn't know Mia Pauldo was like that.

Mia Pauldo is a mixture of Shannon Bobbit (height/quickness wise) and Candace Parker (she scares people)!

The more I watch Mia the more she reminds me of Mo Jefferson. Her speed and the way she tucks the ball in like a fullback when she goes to the rim and finishes. Excellent protecting the basketball and laser focused on the rim.

I mean that as a compliment. I think Jefferson was one of the best college PGs of all time. And IMO the best UConn PG of all time…4 nattys in a row. People don’t give her much credit. Hopefully Mia can be that successful.

The best PG of all time at UConn. Well, that can't be. She's only 5' 6"

Thoughts after watching this game: Z. Johnson (East team) (LSU) is going to be very good in college, she is better than Chavez (OK). For the West team, Betts (UCLA), McDowell (SC) and McGaughy (Wash), Knox (LSU) and J. Davidson all looked really good and ready to contribute quickly. Swain (Stanford) and Davis (KS) from the East team also looked very good. Civil’s game reminds me of a J Horston/T Cooper hybrid... athlete. Pauldo is fun to watch. Hard to assess Prawl in this game, she was 1-10/0-4 shooting, prob just an off game.

Game breakdown:
The best players on Team East were Mia Pauldo (UT), Jaida Civil(UT), and Jaliya Davis (KS).
All three were the most impactful two way players on the court for either team last night.
It’s easy to do one thing good in an All-American game when you are surrounded by elite talent, but to play both ends of the court the way those three did separated them from the rest last night.
Deniya Prawl and Agot Makeer both had similar games last night. One made a few more shots than the other but I’ll take that in this type of game. Neither really were positioned to use their strengths in this kind of game.
Prawl is going to be a dawg at Tennessee. I love how she rebounds the basketball and handles the ball full court with her elite size and length.

Our girls looked great! No idea what the East coach was doing with their starting” five as they got clobbered every time they were in.
The game was really not a game, more of a continuous mugging, escape and chase. Still fun to see our girls. Lots of talent, athleticism and high motor coming in! Loved them all but Civil is going to be soooooo fun! She reminds me so much of a young Jordy/Rae with all of the amazing highlights and china breaking moments that infers!

I would say that the players who had the best game for the East were: (no particular order)

Pauldo
Swain
Johnson
Davis

Honorable mention to two players from the East who had almost identical numbers:

Makeer
Civil

The West team was overall stacked with more talent top to bottom.

We just will agree to disagree.
Mia Pauldo showed why she should be considered a Top 5 prospect in this class not just one of the players who had the best game on the court last night.
Her coached dug that team into a 18-0 hole. Some of the players you listed were on the court during that poor start.
Just call it even, if Mia Pauldo started in this game or played more then the East would’ve been far more competitive.
If you put Mia as the starting PG on the West Team they win by 40 or more points.

I would say that the players who had the best game for the

I only phrased it that way so that I could make a statement about this particular game which we all watched and can form an opinion on. I refrained from declaring any player as the best or one of the best simply because I would prefer to wait until I see how all of them do once they are playing D1 ball. Every year there are many McDonald's AA players who do not transition their HS game to the college level and it is very difficult to predict who those players will be. However, for this game between HS all-stars, I felt it was worth mentioning who "had the best game" in this setting because that can sometimes be a true indicator. Think JuJu in her McD AA game etc.

It's all good.

I would like to give my opinion, but the board is going to jump me, so I’ll wait until next season! 😩😂
