Miami at Florida (Orlando) 7pm ESPN

Can't tell much from the 1st game but UF D-line looks scary good though...imo we gotta max protect and let a veteran QB find a way to throw the ball downfield

The Miami special teams, or lack there of cost them badly. The missed fg and muffed punt changed the complexion of the game completely.

Not to mention the playing calling by Enos was pretty bad. Like Herbstreit said, why didn’t they move the QB around or roll him out, Chip the ends, something?

I watched the last 10 minutes of the game on Gamecast, riding home from a party. If you think the game was crazy live, the Gamecast interpretation was even wilder.

The last 5 minutes went something like this:
Florida 1st and 10
Florida throws int
Miami ball at the UF 25
Unsportsmanlike conduct penalty Miami, ball on UF 40
Miami fumble, Miami recovers, loss of 15
Miami penalty, chop block, 15 yard penalty
Miami sacked, fumbled, Miami recovers, loss of 15.
Ball on Miami 30
Interception for TD, UF 30 Miami 20
Pass interference on UF ball on UF 21
Ball of Miami 45
Miami sacked, fumble, Miami recovers
Miami sacked
Pass interference, ball on UF 26
Miami sacked, fumble, Miami recovers
Pass incomplete
Pass incomplete
UF takes a knee

Well, it was something like that. No. I’m not kidding about the UF INT for a TD.

Hahah.
What??

That's not the remedy for a great pass rush D-Line. You have to be able to run on them.

And our veteran QB will have us out of the game in no time if that is our strategy..

My review:

1) our run blocking is terrible. We got 50 yards. SEC teams will smack us around if we can't figure that out soon.

2) a lot of missed tackles. A lot of them. Concerning and we need to wrap up.

3) Franks still taking too long to decide what to do. He's very strong. Just indecisive.

That play call of a pass with about 4 minutes where we just needed to run clock was unforgivably stupid. And Franks threw it right to the guy.

For those there, like myself, the stadium was poorly run. Took 40 minutes of standing in line to get in. And the traffic on the way out was a free for all.

Kinda like UT winning a game in OT by three points after the opponent turned the ball over 4 times and missed a FG to keep the game going.

Great games are in the eye of the beholder.

Don’t think I called that a “great game” either.

I remember when TN beat UAB in overtime only because UAB has a kicker that couldn’t kick a field goal if the goal post was three feet in front of him.

Didn’t walk out of that game celebrating a “win” either.

At the end of the day, it’s a W. But it’s only a W because one team happened to have more points at the end. Tennessee didn’t win that game, they lost but had more points on the board.

Same with this game.

Tom Gatto at Sporting News put it well.

“Florida found a way to end the game with a higher score than Miami. We don't say "win the game" because honestly, it appeared neither team really wanted to win.”

It wasn’t a great win, in any mindset. Period

Somebody said it earlier, we basically watched two teams lose tonight. This was not a great game by any standard.

UF, as usual, wins these tallest midget type games.

Meh...we made a valiant effort to hand the game to Miami on a silver platter, no different from our last game against them in 2013. Only this time they didn’t take advantage of our generosity.

UF was fortunate to win, but it's not like we (and the officials) didn't give UM a bunch of chances. Other than some boneheaded mistakes and bad tackling on a couple of drives I'd say the defense played pretty well. A lot of pressure on their QB.

58 and 92 will get drafted on the first day.

Clint Stoerner agrees with you,

The comedy of errors strung together by both teams over the last 7 minutes of tonight’s game isn’t even close to comparable to a single Stoener “stumble fumble”...if that’s what you are even talking about.

UF is the king of winning the “who can suck less” contests.
