Miami at Florida (Orlando) 7pm ESPN

Now you’re being disingenuous.
It wasn’t about pretty. It was about execution and attitude. There’s plenty of reasons for concern if you’re a Florida fan and you watched that game. You won a game against a team you should have blown out and had to hang on to win. You’re ahead of us and have expectations. I live in Chattanooga so I encounter all sorts of Ga fans. I hate those guys. I would love for y’all to beat them. After last night I have serious doubts. And after seeing the reaction of your coach I’m not sure he realizes there’s a problem.

At this point I’m not sure what you expect.
“Congratulations on your **** win”?
They won. that's all that matters.

Florida looked really disjointed and inconsistent within that game, but one thing I did see is that they have a nasty front 7. If our O-line has only marginally improved from last year, they will absolutely eat us alive. That, combined with the fact they either 1) play great against us or 2) we always play beneath their level if they don't bring it, leaves me not optimistic.

I will say that Mullen's demeanor after the win was kind of Butch-esque, the whole never apologize for a win, overcame "adversity" to win shtick. I get that it was a win over a rival and you haven't beaten them in a long time, but I'm not sure I would have had this big grin on my face in the post game and talking about how proud I was. That type of performance isn't going to get it done if you play like that all year, but he didn't really communicate that message.

I'm still amazed Franks is their best option at QB. One of the most Jekyll and Hyde players I've ever seen.
I wonder if Franks was simply overrated by the recruiting services, or did his time with McElwain permanently stunt his development. He was a borderline 5-star recruit out of HS with an incredibly impressive offer list.

Could be. He has the physical tools that you see in the elite QBs, but before the coaching change just didn't seem to understand the position very well. Mullen has help his progression for sure but he's also just in year 2 of the change.

Franks is what he is at this point.

He’s not a championship caliber QB and never will be. He needs a strong running game to thrive. He routinely misses open receivers, if he bothers to look past the first option.

After watching the game again yesterday I was far more disappointed with our secondary. Marco Wilson and CJ Henderson played like garbage, which was unexpected. Our safety play wasn’t much better, but we aren’t world beaters at that position, and our best safety was suspended.

This is why I like talking with you, because you can still objectively grade your team.

Despite Franks and your secondary (the latter of which I think will play better as the season goes on), your front 7 looked fierce and that can still take you a fairly long way. The poor play in the secondary in particular was mostly stupidity and mental errors with regards to PI/down and distance, which will probably get cleaned up.

Agreed about our front seven.

Ventrell Miller player well at LB, in spite of getting trucked by a Miami RB on one play.

Our DEs are elite. Greenard and Zuniga are monsters.

Our DTs are serviceable, and we have decent depth...but no dominant earth movers like we had under Muschamp.

I like Greenard and Zuniga....and that #33 is a very good LB.
I saw those DEs spend a lot of time in the backfield pressuring the QB.

I thought #2 looked good running and catching the ball....
I thought #1 looked like a serious threat from anywhere....

I expect to see #1 lined up in the backfield more against us to get him matched up with a LB down the middle of the field or on wheel routes.

I think Franks' biggest asset to the offense is his arm strength--he can throw it deep from anywhere
and that keeps the safeties honest.

It's mental with him....and I can only hope CJP is able to keep him confused without giving up the big plays.

33 is a senior LB considered to be the anchor of our defense. Excellent run stopper but can be a liability in pass coverage.

2 is a senior RB (wore #22 last year) and emerged late last season to where no one in Gainesville was all that concerned when Jordan Scarlett declared for the draft.

1 is Percy Harvin Lite. Why he didn’t touch the ball at least a dozen times on Saturday is a mystery.

Franks is Franks. Million dollar arm, 75 cent head.
