This will put pressure on most of the teams in the SEC. We all try to recruit the state of Florida. The gators have shown the ability to reach beyond their state borders to sign quality players. As a result, I'm afraid this will have a filter down effect on the mid to lower tier teams in the conference.

you mean those teams that lose to the ULM's of the world?

My post was not meant as a slight to any one school but, now that you mention it, yes, teams that lose to the ULMs of the world should worry, I do. On the other hand, teams that whif on major prospects before the Miami/Florida resurgence should take pause as well.

The upper tier of the SEC, as of right now, is clearly Georgia, Florida, and LSU. They will get players due the population base enjoyed by each of the respective states. That fact, coupled with any modest amount of state loyalty attributable to that base, will result in those schools having quality talent year end and year out. My post was meant to illustrate this point not to ruffle any feathers.

So - basically.. you're saying that Bear Bryant is dead?

Did I read that correctly or can someone help me out?

Uh?...

I suspect that your textual analysis of any prose, much less a posting, is rather weak but, if you are so un-informed, yes, Bear Bryant passed in 1983.

is this an educated Bammer on here? Welcome aboard.

lol... Yes. I'm an Alabama fan first and an SEC fan second. Some friends told me that I would enjoy this board and told me that the group on here was a mature group of people that loved the Vols, of course, and celebrated SEC football. So far, my experience has not been entirely pleasant as I have inadvertently upset someone with my first post to this thread and then, after stating the intent of the first post, was harrased by, from what I can discern, an abused child.

With that aside, thanks, I'm a little dazed but happy to be on the board.

Typically, when we see Bama fans on the board it's our experience that we have to assume the worst. It will probably take a few posts to prove otherwise.

Welcome to the board. :hi:

Good try though - don't expect to be treated normal when dishing out slight jabs on a Vol board. Just ask LG how that's working for him - although... he's still here after so long.

You shouldn't come on a rival board and not expect to get words from us. It's all in fun, you just take it the wrong way.

Nothing was taken the wrong way. Your post seemed to be good natured and I took it that way. It was funny.

I just spaced down in my reply to ask the board if cursory quips were the extent of the posts; that's all.

Unintended, very slight jabs then.

To be honest, I can't accurately respond because I don't think I know what the hell that means... My best guess is that that is some sort of inverted definition of overly sensitive but I am at a loss, truly.

Ok, for the sake of me getting out of this thread before I knock anymore china to the floor, lets call it a draw.

Any Monty Python (Holy Grail) fans out there?
