Not exactaly breaking news since we all saw it coming but now the replacement game begins. If they are smart they'll go after guys like Cut, Spurrier and maybe even Louisville's coach. The real question is where if anywhere does Coker end up??

The stigma of being at Miami is going to hurt him. The reputation of the program has stunk for long before Coker came along. Yeah, I cant stand Miami, I'll make that clear. They should be on suspension. The total amount of abuse and rule breaking is still to be known, but there is a lot.

I think Coker rides off into the sunset and just enjoys retirement. I doubt ESPN will even be able to track him down for interviews during the season. best of luck to him either way

If some big name school doesn't take a shot on him then some smaller school will for the media attention alone.

I doubt top tier teams will be lining up outside his door for a chance to get his resume. The guy managed great Miami teams adequately in '01 and '02. Since then, it has been a linear drop-off every year. The bottom line is that he has produced a notable lack of success in one of the easiest programs in the country to have success.

I hope Miami stays away from Cutt.

That, from all outwards appearances, just seems to be a really bad fit.

Wonder if they might go after coach Cut? How about Spurrier?

That made me laugh. Not because it's kind of ridiculous to think that Miami would want Cut, but because his name magically appears every time someone gets fired. Matter of fact, I think I heard his name mentioned to take over the fry machine at McDonalds..:)

I think that everyone will be staying away from Cut.

I'm not sure what that means, but I definitely think Cut will be a player for certain jobs. He took over a mediocre Ole Miss program and put them in 4 bowls in 5 years and chalked up the winningest period in that school's history.

While that doesn't make him a good fit in Miami, I think you will see him as a leading candidate for jobs in the Ole Miss category. For instance, I'll be willing to wager that, should the NC State job open up after the season, Cut will need to have his resume handy.

All schools will stay away, lest they want my wrath to consume them .... or something like that

Besides..being an OC is better for your heart than head coaching anyway. And Tennessee is a much better state than North Carolina or any other for that matter. With that said, Cut stays until they name a street after him on the day he retires. Power of the mind my friends.....

(He's not that old, just looks it.)

I'm not saying that he should or shouldn't been fired, but I know of another coach that won a national championship, had one less conference championships, had a 6 loss season (2005) and also has a national reputation of running a "Thug U" program that wasn't fired!!!:whistling:

NC State wants Bill Cowher bad! Word around is he's built a mansion in Raleigh and Rumor Control has it that Amato is in for one more year , then out to be replaced by Cowher. I f course I don't have a thing to back it up except what I read and hear.

I don't see any reason why the U wouldn't go hard after Schiano. He's coached there before, got the local connections, and was good enough to actually give a program like Rutgers some credibility.

i didn't really mean he was old. I just don't think he wants to coach anywhere else. I think he's content w/ what he has done and doesn't want to start over at another program.
