I now think there is a real possibility that Florida-UT doesn't happen on 9/16, at least not in Gainesville.

It sure would help us out if it was.... last time we played the game at the end of the year I believe it favored the Vols

I think the game will be played possibly at a neutral site or in Knoxville, with one caveat; if some (or many) Florida players or coaches experience really devastating personal losses, I can't imagine the SEC taking the PR hit of forcing them to play a game a few days later. No way that happens.

I can't imagine UF would want to take 2 weeks in a row off - that's 3 weeks between games. I know football should take a backseat to the effects of Irma, but I bet UF will do everything they can to play this game

They could move a few games around and do this
cancel UF-UAB

UT -UF Oct 7th
LSU-UF Nov 18th

This would give UT a tough 4 game stretch though.

Unless an appeal is awarded. I don't think the Gators could only play 10 games.

Yeah, I don't believe they do that now, because UT-LSU, they only way I see that is to play 9/23, cancelling their other non-conference game. Too much moving around.

What do you think the possibility is that they push back the SEC championship game a week if the UT-FLA game gets cancelled?

My guess is they play as scheduled. This game cannot be rescheduled without affecting additional conference games, which I don't believe will happen.

Where had you seen a rule regarding the number of overall games required to be played each season?

I'm sorry I guess we have seen the 11 game teams. If s team plays 10. Im not sure but I guess the appeal I was eluding to would actually be if Florida ends up 5-5 or 4-6 trying to be bowl eligible. Granted the 4-4 would be a long shot. Getting them to to 6 wins out of 10 games isn't a long shot

The SEC and other conferences should look at moving back the championship games a week starting next year so there will be an open week in there. That way they would be able to schedule any make up games for that week.
