The huge difference (at least for me) between this game and Gardner-Webb (and VMI), is that I would have been perfectly fine/content with UK losing this game to Miami. You can see the talent. You can see the pieces coming together. You see the style of play and know that eventually this team will be a machine.
Losing to Gardner-Webb/VMI was a total different experience. We had a team who pretty much had no chance of getting significantly better. You knew that a whole season followed, and would be much of the same.
There was no grumbling in Rupp last night. There was a standing ovation for the players. There were fans actually urging players on when down by 16 and still making bad passes.
Things are different in lexington this year, no doubt.
