Miami Hurricanes to forgo bowl game due to NCAA probe - ESPN

The decision means that many members of the school's heralded signing class of 2008, including quarterback Jacory Harris and linebacker Sean Spence, will leave the program without a postseason victory.

How the times have changed... didn't think I'd see the day when Miami went four years without a postseason win. Maybe it's happened before but growing up they were the cream of the crop. It's apparent they're down but no bowl wins in four seasons really puts it in perspective. Over like a 20 year span they had produced the most 1st round picks and now they can't even win at the college level

In a related story, bowl representatives across the country breathe a huge sigh of relief, upon realizing they don't have to extend a bowl to college football's worst traveling fan base.

Hhaa.

Miami has really fallen off. I watched the bowl game last year...just terrible.

Cross them off the potential MCB invitees.

This. Most likely we'll be playing Georgia Tech, but NC State and Wake Forest are other potential opponents. I'd prefer to play Tech given their track record when the opponent has multiple weeks to prepare.

I have never seen us handle an option offense defensively. At this point, though, I just want us to be eligible.

then they realized that they may have to extend an offer to a potential 6-6 Vanderbilt team with a nonexisting fan base.

The team that left Knoxville last night says they can give them a run for their money.

They won't attend a home game.

Maybe it's just me but I don't want to see our defense try to handle an option offense.
