He was just 66.

Family: Michael Crichton dies of cancer

Michael Crichton, the million-selling author of such historic and prehistoric science thrillers as "Jurassic Park," "Timeline" and "The Andromeda Strain," has died of cancer, his family said.

He died Tuesday in Los Angeles at age 66 after a long battle with the illness.

I had no idea he even had cancer. That's sad news. I've read all his books and was really looking forward to his next.

He's got an autobiography called Travels. It's really interesting and will provide you with a long list of locations you'll want to visit. I'd recommend it.

It gets pretty nutty. He's a really smart guy and he honestly believes in some pretty crazy phenomena. It's kind of hard to rationalize. Still, it's interesting.
I ain't afraid of some odd reading.

Damn! How did I miss hearing about him passing away!! I've read all of his books. Lots of them twice. I really hate to hear that.
