This is by no a means bash Michigan thread or a shot at them because a strong Michigan keeps Urban Mayer in check, just as a strong Auburn keeps Bama in check. However, I don't think I have ever witnessed or read more condescending douchery in my life as it pertains to their coaching search. Every fan base has their share of idiocy and unreasonable expectations when it comes to their team but they act as if any coach would beg to have the job at Michigan and even then they may or may not be worthy of the job. I know it is a good job and will pay good money but so would/are about 15-20 other jobs. Every job has its share of positives and negatives, and there are no sure bets in coaching.

I just think they are waiting to see what happens in the NFL. They are prowling like a shark ready to strike as soon as someone like Jay Gruden is cut loose into the waters.

We're you not here for the post-Dooley shenanigans?

Yes I was here, and for Kiffin, and for Jones, and for the Fulmer firing. However, there may have been some posters claiming some pretty idiotic expectations but not from the actual sites like Volquest or Scout. The front page article on the Michigan Scout site reads as if coaches are begging to get the head job and just waiting to see if they get another interview. Not to mention, they are supposedly quoting administrators that "claim" that other coaches are just hoping to be considered. I am not talking about lower tier D1 jobs. I am talking about the top 4-5 coaches in college football today and the NFL.

If they're down to offering Cutcliffe you have to think Butch could actually be a possibility before they locked him up - I'm glad they did that for the peace of mind right now as recruiting gets silly.

Cutcliffe is a good coach. He is winning at Duke. That says a lot about his coaching abilities. Michigan could do much worse
