some observations:
1. Georgetown and Rutgers somehow managed to play 23 1/2 minutes before either team attempted a free throw.
2. Kansas is going to annihilate the Big XII.
3. Oregon State is possibly the worst team I've ever seen in a major conference.
4. Arizona State is one of the five most improved teams in America.
5. They're still learning, but Tony Barbee has UTEP headed in the right direction. They'll be a factor in C-USA.
6. Sam Houston State finished up as good a nonconference showing as you will see by a small conference team.
7. The A-10 race is going to be about six teams deep.
8. Unless they learn to defend, Vanderbilt's joyride is about to come to a crashing halt.
9. The Big Ten, outside of Michigan State and Indiana, is disgraceful.
10. Bobby Lutz may well have reached the end of the road in Charlotte.

I've got to disagree with you on number 9. Wisconsin has rebounded quite well after getting drubbed in Durham.
