Mike Haywood To....

I haven't watched Miami at all, but I'd be skeptical he's just another one of the 'flavor of the month' type of guys.

Congrats to the Redhawks, have a very good friend on that coaching staff. Indiana is a real possibility and Haywood is interviewing there in the next few weeks, also being mentioned as a dark horse for the Vandy job which I hope he doesn't get because of the career killer that it is.

I thought they looked solid against Florida this season. That's the only game I watched of them. From 1 win to a MAC title is a solid accomplishment in 365 days. Interviewing at Indiana, I'm not so sure about.

I won't take it personal, but he will be interviewing there and has a legitimate shot at the job.

It's no disrespect to Indiana or Haywood, but I think I would stay. No one has put together a string of solid seasons at Indiana since I can remember.

I would hold out for something better next year...like the Georgia job.

That is very true, however when schools from the bigger conferences come knocking it's very hard to turn them away.

True. He's not one of the "hot" names in college football. He probably would love to take a BCS conference gig.

Yes, and I don't think he is going to be a "hot" name anytime soon. It's not going to get much better for him then turning around a team like this and winning the MAC. Besides going undefeated and making a BCS bowl he has topped out there.

That was one of the most exciting game endings I've seen this year, even though it was in the MAC.

Update: Indiana is really hard after Haywood right now, Vandy has been in preliminary negotiations, and the long shot is Miami FL (has been some contact on Miami's part) at this point. Haywood wants to leave because he won't be able to top what he did this year, so look for him to jump immediately if he gets an offer from one of these schools or equal offers.

HMMM. I gotta wonder what is going through the minds of the various ADs in the Big East with TCU coming in. If they all continue to run things the way they do, there's little argument that says Gary Patterson shouldn't absolutely be throttling that conference for years to come.
