I remember when Stoops was great at coaching defense, and his teams were hard nosed with shut down corners. Leach arrived in Norman and turned a dismal offense around no question about that but the impact it left behind has come back to haunt Stoops over the years. The philosphy of placing your most talented on offense and sacrifice your defense hurt him against Boise St., and it has hurt him every year afterwards one way or another. His program wins games but win them by outscoring their opponent not by scoring 30 and holding their opponent to 7 or 10 pts. A W is not always good when you fall short once or twice a year because lack of defense.

You do know they are the only team averaging over 50 points this season right?? Also, have you seen some of the offensive coaches and players in the Big 12 lately?? Everything is becoming more competitive, and Oklahoma will be fine.

I wouldn't call Bob Stoops or his > .80 winning percentage and #5 BCS ranking ruined...

Mike Leach has been gone from OU for awhile now. Stoops is a defensive coach and I do not believe he puts his best players on Offense.

No, the only problem Oklahoma had in that game is that they had no business being in the Fiesta Bowl in the first place. They were only there with that team because of the great coaching job Bob Stoops and his staff did to get them there. The fact that they lost the Fiesta Bowl to a team that was 11-0 coming in is not a mark against him.

Defense wins championships, look at every NC game and it has been the defense that wins championships. Last year when LSU won, it was because of the defense, the year before it was the Gators defense that shut down OSU. Look at last year SB, most thought Brady and Co. would score at will and win because of their play on both sides of the ball but the Giants defense came to play. Bob Sanders led his defense the year before for the Colts Championship. The point is every so often a team may win it all because of offense but in the end defense wins championships.

What athletes do you suggest that he switch? It is not like they have been recruiting 15 athletes a class that can play both sides of the ball.

Don't believe everything you read about soft Big 12 defenses. Yes they probably aren't as tough as SEC defenses, but this is not a Pac 10 situation either. The QBs and skill position players are very very good in the Big 12 this year.

Finally,Mike Leach has nothing to do with Bob Stoops personnel decisions and I seriously doubt that he was ever able to steal a kid that Stoops wanted on HIS defense.

Does that mean Sam Bradford was supposed to play corner or Adrian Peterson was supposed to play LB?

Not sure I understand the logic....Stoops is a fine football coach and his record shows it. More importantly, he has hired good coordinators and recruited well.
