Mike Shanahan Fired

Wow. So I guess you don't get a pass for sending 6 running backs to the IR?

Obviously that team's weakness was defense, but the man was a good coach. I'd take him if Foxy wasn't so damn good.

And Dan Reeves rode on Elway's coat tails too.

Reeves got the same result with the Falcons that he got with Elway in Denver. Ironically, Shanahan and Elway were the ones that smacked Atlanta around in the Super Bowl.

Wow, was not expecting that. He was really more of an offensive coordinator and the defense was solely on the D-coordinator. The defense has been a joke since firing Larry Coyer.

He did a great job with Cutler, though. If we had any sort of at least an average defense and not an 8th string running back, we would have been pretty good. Damn those "ifs"

Didn't see a whole lot of Elway when the Broncos went to the AFC Championship in 2005.

What about all of the choke jobs his teams have pulled. The last 3 games this year. The last game of the '06 season. Or the one playoff win since '98.

Mike Holmgren has plenty of choke jobs in his career. I think he'll be able to find another job if he wants one. The team this year flat out sucks. His playoff losses have come against the 2 of the three best teams in the AFC over the last few years. One of the them ended up winning the Super Bowl.
