Mike Vick offered a new contract

I am watching the E60 report on the dogs, I hope that he spends the rest of his pathetic life struggling to pay bills, and is someday mauled by someone else's abused pit bull.

What he did was really sick and wrong but I thought he got treated unfairly. There has been guys in the past do much worse to human beings and didn't go to prison and still got to play in the league.

I agree 100%. Ray Lewis murdered a man, then won the SuperBowl the next year. Lets not even begin to mention all the drug/sex/physical abuse charges many of the players get. Example...the guy love to abuse...and more importantly abuse women, yet after a slap on the wrist is still playing football. Another example..Matt Jones. He got caught red handed snorting up in his car. I dont recall him getting a very severe punishment.

He has served his time and has paid his debt "legally". I think that he should be reinstated and given an opportunity to play in the NFL again. What he did was awful, but he has paid his debt to society.

He may play again in the NFL. With that being said, I dont know what teams want that distraction on their team. Every single game they play will be filled with Mike Vick taunts/etc. The media will direct much of the focus on Mike Vick, not the game to play. Many people have forgiven him and would welcome him back into the league. With that being said, let him play your favorite team and I bet dog jokes will start. He should go to Cleveland...at least fans wearing dog masks are nothing out of the norm.

"Who let the Dogs Out" would be played over and over again like it was 2000.

I am surpised no teams have inquired about him. There are some teams that Mike Vick would be an improvement on their QB situation.

Character is high on the list of requirements for teams paying a sizable salary to anyone these days.

Take the dog issue away and MV still falls short.

Those who disagree can give me the finger. Michael would.

For some reason he seems like a good fit in Oakland. Dumb owner who wants a QB to throw the ball 70 yards everytime and a crazy fanbase...sounds like a receipe to me

Yes but many of those teams would have to change their entire philosophy and probably a lot of their players to make it work. It will be a year or two before it could be done successfully and when you think about it Vick was never really that successful. His biggest plus was that he would sell seats because of his athleticism, now he would sell seats for an entirely different reason that would cast a huge negative over the organization, at least for a while.

Bottom line is 98% of the teams out there would tell you it just isn't worth it.

Sure, he paid his debt to society...good for him. He has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness....but he doesn't have the right to play in the NFL. That's up to the League to decide.

If one of my employees were jailed for dog-fighting, he wouldn't have an opportunity to rejoin my staff after he completed his prison time.

This times 1000000

We honestly have no room to talk with Leonard Little, Dwayne Goodrich, Travis Henry, ...etc

Mort just said he's hearing that "three or four" teams are possibly interested and that he thinks MV will be playing this season.

That's too bad.

Lets compile a list of current and former NFL players and their crimes against society. :) I will start.... Ray Lewis (murder)

Vick could be a fit with some things the Dolphins appear to be trying to do.

There is a distinction to be made here. None of the people you mentioned set out to destroy life the,way Vick did. He wantingly caused the death of others not because he made a bad choice one night, but because he was a ring leader of a group that profited by using animals to kill. While he was doing it he also "forgot" to report winnings from his illegal venture.

I know, you will say, he didn't kill any people, but the distinction is that he set out willingly to destroy animals for pleasure and profit, the examples you mentioned did not wake up that day and decide to kill people.

Coming from a Phins fan....wont happen. Parcells will want nothing to do with him and the distraction he brings.

I'm sure, plus Vick in that city might not be smart but from a scheme standpoint he could fit (wildcat).

Maybe he could cut a promo with Snowflake??

That's true...but not with them investing a 2nd round pick on Pat White.

I don't think Vick can play qb in the NFL again. He wasn't all that great at the position to begin with....he was just difficult to prepare for because of his athleticism.

Edit: I believe in second chances for people who make mistakes, everyone makes mistakes. MV made no mistakes he set out and did exactly what he wanted to, now he should pay the price. If the NFL says no more, then it is as it should be. If they allow him to come back, that is their choice, if it were me there is no way!

I understand completely where your coming from. I think that is why they drafted Pat White who can be a WR/QB/ATH
