He does provide the drama.

He is an emotional guy, I like a guy that wears his heart/emotions on his sleeve.

I don't have a problem with it. It's hard for 1 race cars to compete though.

If he can qualify, why not? However, i think inside he considers himself a legitimate contender, which is kinda sad.

The car Michael wound up driving in the 500 this year was the 9th best car in the MWR stable. He said that Truex, Reutimann, and Ambrose had primary and secondary cars he felt were stronger than his first primary car which crashed in the 150. His secondary car was the car that Newman wiped out for him in the Shootout. So he was down to the 9th car in the stable. I honestly think Mikey at least still has the skill to go to the front at the plate tracks and if he wants to run next year in the 500 more power to him.

Personally I think Mikey will be remembered for his role as an owner more so than as a driver, once he steps away from racing fully he'll really benefit MWR. He has already showed he can turn around a struggling team with barely any sponsors to a team that is competitive, has a shot at making the Chase, and has managed to renew all sponsors from last year and bring in new ones. If you would have told me MWR would be successful a few years back I would have laughed.

That will be his last race about as much as 2005 was Mark Martin's last full season.
