I'm pulling for him, but honestly he wasn't too hot of a commodity after 2021. He'd already transferred once. He looked like a guy who lost his job at two different P5 schools. Why not stick around and try to learn something from a dude like Heupel? It was a smart decision on his part, but also probably his best option, people weren't beating down his door the moment the Purdue bowl loss ended.

I got to meet JOE at an event this week and he spoke on having options on returning . I can’t quote word for word but he said something to the effect he knew for his growth this was his best option. Great young MAN and leader. Can’t be anything but a huge fan to see him succeed.

I'm super thankful Joe Bazooka stuck around for one more season! Watching him live at the Orange Bowl was a sight to behold and made me realize that Vols needed him back this year and he needed the team as well. I think he's definitely matured, improved his game and will help project our program forward more than if he had left to go pro. Looking forward to watching it all unfold soon. GBO!!!

So when are you saying he would have left? After being replaced in the starting lineup by Hooker?

Look at this years draft. Honestly why did AR go 4th overall? He was a terrible QB at UF. Milton stats are better especially the passing stats. AR was drafted that high because of athleticism. I believe Milton could have shined at the combine and gotten himself drafted in say the second or third round. His combine would have been better than Levis.

That's just delusional. No NFL team was going to draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round that was a backup QB in college after having lost the starting job at not one, but two different Power 5 programs. He does have to prove that he can lock down the starting QB position.

Man, I’m just hoping his control is under control. I know I’m not the only one in this boat either! Dude can sling it for sure and has both the hype and two very good games on his resume but I hope those two were not anomalies and he reverts back to what we saw in his first year and the tapes of his play before he arrived.

Why would he revert with another full offseason in the same system with a proven Qb guru at head coach and he is the unquestioned leader and starter… joe is going to have an excellent season.

You aren't wrong here but one has to say this......it was Joe's fantastic and supportive attitude that began to show everyone what an up and coming leader looks like. I think he has every opportunity to show his stuff this year. Pulling for him too.

Keep in mind that someone did draft Will Levis…. A guy who showed every Saturday that he wasn’t even an average college quarterback. Delusional may be a strong word..

I have a cool Joe Milton story..
I had really good seats for the Alabama game last year and my 9 year old son and I were some of the first fans onto the field after the game winning field goal. We came across Joe Milton all alone in the end zone by the opposite goal posts from the winning field goal. He hugged both of us and then lifted my son up where he could touch the goal posts. My son (pictured in my profile) is absolutely enamored with Joe now and I love it...
