Minimum rule for wins to get bowl bid

I heard someone say today and I agree with them that a team with just six wins does not deserve a bowl game. I think they should win 7 with 6 coming against Div 1A. That would probably drop at least half a dozen bowls. :thumbsup:hmy: I know that sounds terrible.

Never going to happen because it would force bowls to shut down for a year. They HAVE to have teams play in them -- even if that means extenuating circumstances requiring them to pick teams with losing records.

In other words, it's about money. Win/loss is irrelevant. Bowls would pit losing teams, if they could.

What they should do is raise the minimum number of wins for a bowl game to 8, so it's actually an accomplishment to get to a bowl game.

What they will do is keep letting 6-6 teams that blow chunks into the multitude of bowl games that exist solely for the financial gain of the organizing committee that puts it on.

I think it should be a minimum of 7 wins to get into a bowl. 6-6 seasons shouldn't be celebrated.

I thought that all 7-win teams had to be accommodated before 6-6 teams could fill up the spots. Or, is WKU still in some kind of transitional period?

Maybe that is just conference by conference, so that, say, 7-win WKU doesn't take an SEC bowl over a 6-6 SEC team.

WKU got screwed

The sad part about it is they finished 2nd in their conference and the 3rd and 4th place teams made bowls since they were 8-4. Not to mention WKU beat both of those teams.

It is all about tickets sold not 7 wins.WKU could probably sell 2K in tickets

Should be 7. I dont see how a team can finish 6-7 and have been considered bowl worthy.
