I must admit I watch from afar.
75 and living in LA.(lower Alabama)
Moved to Knoxvegas in 79. Went to ALL games and several at home. Was IN to it. Orange and White game pics with son and players.....etc. you get it.
I have for the most part quit watching ALL College Games.
It is now more than ever an NFL Minor League Sport.
Do you really believe these 19Star players give a crap about UT and Championships.
Do you really believe they listen and respond to additional work needed for improvement on the field?
For God Sake, being reported lately of Parents complaining to Staff where and how much they boyz are playing.
I guess trophy presentations at the end of season for all will be next.
Tearing down the goal posts have become "that" trophy for a team and program.
I would say "Act like ya been there" but I DO realize they haven't BEEN There!
They want money, either from the University they attend or the NFL in the "near" future.
How many are on campus 4 years and are ingrained in the life of a UT Student. They are too busy selecting an agent or testing the Portal for a Better Team and Better chance at becoming a high Draft Pick.
And don't get me started with the Coaches. A&M is seriously considering giving their NO Miss Coach over 80M to leave........what a joke that makes of the University and the BIG $$$ supporting they stupidity. The best games for an Ol Curmudgeon like me are Marshall and Appy State early season beating the BIG Program Teams.
I predicted UTs late season lost.....................missed the team. I thot it would be Kensucky.
Why...........would I predict that.............because I have watched this program for decades.
Cuttin' my heart and showin' it to me is something I am used to.
It is, what it IS! Minor League NFL and is only going to get worse. Promising the recruits NIL jack and promising the boys in the Portal playing time and access to the top agents, may bode well for them, but doesn't get a championship without work, leadership and heart!
