No. Will Rodgers will be looking for a guarenteed starting position and we can't promise him anything.

With the amount Nico is getting paid, he is going to have an edge over anyone that comes in. Huepel can say otherwise, and promise at least a competition, but Nico already sat a year and I'm sure the NIL backers want to see him play.

I still think we should target a veteran in the portal, but its going to be someone who probably didn't get the opportunities they thought would be available to them and willing to get some NIL money as a backup.

We are not in position to go after what was considered a top 3 SEC QB preseason All SEC in some polls. He will help the right program out he was great playing under the Pirate. This year's coach at MSU more a D and running game coach just shows you some coaches can dampen/stunt a QBs game.

If Rogers is willing to come, why would we NOT take him? Let him and Nico compete. If Nico can’t beat him out and decides to transfer as a result, he isn’t who we hoped he’d be. If Nico is who we hope he is, Rogers would be the best backup in the SEC.

I’d argue that we are not in position to put all our eggs in one basket. Why take that risk? Nobody is above having to compete for a job.
