I now believe it is easy to see them as in the NCAA's and possibly doing well in the NCAA's.

I do not want to face the lineup that includes Dee Bost, Jalen Steele, Ravern Johnson and Renardo Sidney in the SECT.

"That means the Bulldogs, favorites in the SEC West, will essentially have three seasons -- one without Sidney and Bost for the first nine games, one with Sidney but not Bost for the next seven games, and then the complete team for the final 15 SEC games."

NCAA suspends Mississippi State point guard Dee Bost for nine games - ESPN

Kodi Augustus is the first SEC bball to ever feature prominently on MTV as far as I know. He had his poor love life exposed when a crazy cracker named Gemmye who he was with showed up with cameras after his game at LSU...his family was around and he got unsurprising hatred from them.

Poor Rick has to go through his biggest tournaments without arguably his two best players, but they should gel nicely by the time the SEC season is in full swing.

Looking at the recruits LSU has, they will not be an NCAA team but they will win a lot more out of conference and they will not embarrass the SEC like last year.

The West should have at least 1 team in, and overall the conference could get as many as 6 bids.

John Pelphrey who has been ripped here for a season in which he had 4 players out for an extended period in which he suffered his worst defeats, has a top 5 recruiting class coming in 2011.
Top 100 commitments: No. 43 Rashad Madden (6-4, 175, G), No. 49 B.J. Young (6-2, 160, G), No. 55 Hunter Mickelson (6-9, 205, F), No. 83 Devonta Abron (6-7, 215, F), No. 90 Aaron Ross (6-8, 220, F)

Pelphrey will have a better season than last and if he is given another year at Arkansas he should have them back to respectability.

They have a very strong starting lineup, but little depth, if they get in foul trouble, they will struggle. Is John Riek eligible to play for them? Also, I think Jalen Steele is a medicore player, Cam Tatum is better than him. Arkansas has an extremely strong recruiting class coming in, they are going to get better quickly and won't be down for long.

Yeah, Pelphrey's going to get it done. He's a younger, even stupider version of Jerry Green.

No, Pelphrey has been ripped because he consistently has outstanding talent, and he consistently accomplishes a startling amount of nothing with it.

What? Look how good they were in '08-'09. Last year was his only bad year. Oh, wait.

Pelphrey should get a pass. Look at what good citizens he's brought to Fayetteville. I'm pretty sure Courtney Fortson was Rotary Club Man of the Year.

Can you tell me about the outstanding talent he has?

What NBA players has Pelphrey squandered?

Is he Hewitt?

He had at least three on the 07-08 squad, with Sonny Weems, Pat Beverly, and Steven Hill.

That team didn't exactly overachieve.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Fortson and Washington on rosters at some point. Look at the results he got out of those guys. Guess who's the only coach in recent history to fail to reach the 'AAs at South Alabama during his tenure? The guy is a clown. Once he completely tanks Arkansas, he can go somehwere in the OVC. That's as high a level as he has any business running a program at.

The Razorbacks began the season ranked # 19, but fell out of the top 25 after losing their third game of the season to unranked Providence College. Arkansas went on to win six consecutive games to improve to 8-1, before losing to the Oklahoma Sooners. They finished the nonconference season 11-3, highlighted by wins over Missouri and Baylor.
The Hogs won their first two conference games against Auburn and Alabama, before losing their next two to South Carolina and Georgia. Pelphrey's Razorback team then responded with back-to-back home wins against two ranked opponents, defeating Mississippi State and also Florida, coached by one of his mentors and dear friends, Billy Donovan. The Razorbacks also handed a loss to ranked Vanderbilt along the way. Arkansas finished the SEC regular season with a 9-7 record.
The Hogs defeated Vanderbilt (then ranked 18th nationally) again in the 2008 SEC Tournament. They followed this up with arguably their biggest victory of the season, a 92-91 win over #4 Tennessee in the tourney semifinals. The Hogs lost in the championship game to underdog Georgia, but rebounded to defeat Indiana 86-72 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. It was the Razorbacks' first NCAA tourney victory since 1999. The Razorbacks were eliminated by overall #1 seed North Carolina in the second round.

Sonny Weems took a step forward under Pelphrey, and then was such an amazing talent that he languished in the NBDL for years before finally making it in the league as a backup.

Pat Beverly has been in the NBA about as long as Chism.

Steven Hill was undrafted, which is hard to do as starting center in the SEC over 7'1.

I think Pelphrey is getting great talent in the 2011 class. I think his squad this year will be better than 08 and 09 but still not great.

In the SEC during the run of those three, who had more squandered (and don't leave out Townes, who was probably the most talented of the lot).

The real fun for Pelphrey is going to begin when the 'AA starts sniffing around Madden's recruitment.

With my love for the guy (and UK) I tried to give Pelphrey the benefit of the doubt for the longest time, but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, its a duck. He has had some bad breaks true, but it doesn't excuse the fact that he has squandered some good teams.

Interesting statement. Might explain why Madden told his teachers he was joining his sister at Baylor then shortly after announced for Arkie.
