Missed layups

I could point to 3 other stat lines that lost us the game too.

Rebounds: UK 43 UT 23
Free Throw Pts: UK 22 UT 7
Three Point shots: UT 3/21

Yet, despite all three of those things not going our way, we still had a chance to win at the end, but missed some layups.

Part of that is recruiting. I mean we barely play above the rim more than some women’s teams. There’s just not much explosiveness on this roster. You watch other top teams around the country and they dunk several of the ones we missed.

I think you and I watch two different Tennessee teams play.

I’ve seen this team make tons of dunks, tons of “above the rim” stuff, lots of dunk put backs, and a lot of explosive plays.

They just didn’t make many today.

Against the top talent in the SEC, ZZ struggles down low, it is a verticle game he cannot compete in, today his jumps hot was consistently short, today was not Alcorn State, it was Kentucky and Tennessee was embarrassed and exposed on national television, coast to coast

didnt work today..killed the momentum

We've been doing it all year and were 14-2 prior to today. I'm sure if Barnes had his DeLorean up to 88 mph, he'd go back and do a lot of things differently, but that's basketball. Barnes didn't shoot 3-21 from 3 and Barnes didn't get outrebounded by 20. That substitution was part of our gameplan, and when you grab an early 8 point lead, it allows you to get some guys some rest and we don't normally have a drop-off with our bench players.

why did barnes sub when we went up 8-0 after 2 mins of play.ky promptly went on a 10-0 run.
A big part of that is Kentucky put their best lineup On the floor too. They do what we do and try and change the game with their first subs and it worked today better than ours did

Ok, Danny White. Tell me what Barnes, without your benefit of hindsight, should have done differently.

I'm not saying Barnes was necessarily excellent for 40 minutes in this game, but your particular complaint of him adhering to his normal substitution pattern with an 8-0 lead is stupid and you're showing how uninformed you are.

go ask texas why they got rid of him.if you can't see the same pattern here your not paying attention.i like the guy but too many times see the team not ready to play for 40 minutes.just my opinion no reason to get butt hurt.

Texas got worse after they fired him. And after Shaka flopped they hired a morally bankrupt fool that they just had to fire for cause after less than 2 years. Just because Texas fired him doesn’t mean it was a smart decision.
