Yes but I wasn’t referring only to UGA, Pirates geographically fits Mississippi better than a bulldog. Bulldog nicknames are dime a dozen

Totally agree. What a tribute to Mike Leach that would be, especially considering river piracy on the Mississippi River was quite prevalent throughout the 1800’s. Most notably was Jean Lafitte who Andrew Jackson recruited to help fight the British in the Battle of New Orleans. Jackson pardoned Lafitte for his acts of piracy in exchange.
